"Sounding Time" is a fifty-minute-long multimedia production by ensemble SofIA (Sonorities of Interactive Acoustics) that investigates time from sonic, performance and visual perspectives.

The performance utilizes devices such as pendulums, hourglasses, analog clocks, metronomes, digital timers and virtually simulated time machines to engage the audience in a unique multimodal experience.

Combining state-of-the-art digital processing with low-tech visceral device hacking, SofIA directly engages the audience in an exploration of the numerous ways in which time has been defined and measured—scientifically, culturally, and historically.

Premiered at Dorsch Gallery in Miami, FL on July 16, 2010.
